Biktrix Inverted Fork Users Guide
Congratulations on your new bike purchase. Your bike features a Biktrix inverted suspension fork. To get maximum benefit from your fork here are a few tips.
- The top right-hand dial on your suspension fork is a “lockout”, this can be useful if you are on smooth pavement or going uphill, locking the fork can improve pedal efficiency in these situations.
- On the underside of the right suspension leg is the rebound adjust. If you are a casual rider and only going over small bumps, you can have your suspension rebounding fast. If you are trail riding and going over larger obstacles that compress the fork more, it can be advantageous to have the fork rebound more slowly. If it rebounds too fast in this situation it can toss you from the bike. Clockwise is slow and counterclockwise is fast rebound.
- The most important adjustment you can make is air pressure or sag of the fork. The air pressure adjustment is located on the underside of the left fork leg. To adjust this, you need a special shock pump, you cannot use a regular bicycle pump or an air compressor.
Step 1. Slide the rubber “O” ring to the upper part of the fork stanchion tube
Step 2. With the bike near a wall for your support, gently get on the bike (no bouncing) and sit on the seat. Then, stand on the pedals with your shoulders over the handlebar. Slowly get off the bike
Step 3. Look at the location of the rubber “O” ring. A good standard for adjustment is 20% sag. If the “O” ring has moved down 20% of the stanchion tube, that is perfect. If it has only moved 15%, release some air from your fork with your shock pump. If it has moved 30%, add 10 more psi with the shock pump
Step 4: Return to “Step1” until you have reached your desired sag, in our case 20%
4. Wipe any dirt and debris from your stanchion tubes to maintain a smooth front fork. Never use pressurized water to wash your fork as it can damage your fork.
